Beautiful environment isn't it ? Yeahh.. I love that too .. Such a lovely place that can make ourself feel calm. With beautiful landscapes, happening cities and sleepy towns, a rich history and more than 6,000 islands to choose from, it's clear to see why holidays to Greece are so popular. The fantastic weather certainly helps to tempt holidaymakers too as temperatures soar from June to August.

Why i choose this city of Athens at this time ?

Because, this country offer something for everyone. It is like you want to explore ancient ruins, flop on the beach , their fresh food and more.

Most Greek islands are “open for business” from Orthodox Easter until mid-October; southerly Crete and Rhodes stretch that to late October, though Skiáthos and Corfu in the north shut down weeks earlier. For discounted room rates, better taverna service and moderate weather, mid-May to late June, all of September, are the best times.

During July and August, everything is fully functioning and the sea thoroughly warmed up, but you’ll have to contend with crowds and either intense heat or themeltémi, the infamous northerly wind which buffets beaches all afternoon.

Whether you're planning an action-packed family holiday with the kids or a romantic and relaxing break, there is plenty to do in Greece. Here are some ideas...

Acropolis of Athen

This is the Acropolis of Athens. Located on a high rocky outcrop above the city of Athens. Its monuments are universal symbols of the classical spirit and civilization and form the greatest architectural and artistic complex bequeathed by Greek Antiquity to the world. It is one of the Heritage list too.

For your information, weather in Greece is predominantly mediteranian. One of the Europian popular holiday destination in the world. My opinion, Greece is just like more to historical places. The other name of Greece is Yunani. It has modern travel experience amid ancient history.

Kastelorizo island

Have you heard about Kastelorizo island ??

Tiny Kastelorizo is Greece's smallest permanently inhabited island and the furthest from Athens. It has pretty Anatolian-style houses (the island is 2km off the coast of Turkey), hilltop castles and very clear seas.
To go to this place, Take a boat to the Blue Grotto, a dazzling sea cave underlit by refracted sunlight – it is much bigger than the more famous grotto in Capri, Italy. Carry on to St George, a tiny rock-isle, to snorkel and sunbathe in seclusion. Back on Kastellorizo, hike up to the monastery and castle above the harbour for views across to Kas in Turkey – or even take a day trip there.
There are Fresh seafood at one of the many tavernas flanking the harbour is the way to go.

Mount Athos
This is Mount AthosMount Athos is strictly controlled and only males are allowed entrance. Mount Athos is a mountain and a peninsula in northern Greece. The peninsula, the easternmost “leg” of the larger Halkidiki peninsula houses some 1,400 monks in 20 Eastern Orthodox monasteries.

#1 of Tourist Attractions In Greece

Santorini is a volcanic island in the Cyclades group of the Greek islands. It is famous for its dramatic views, stunning sunsets, the white-washed houses, and its very own active volcano.

Syntagma Square

A major point of interest for any traveler to Athens is the Syntagma Square. The most famous aspect of Syntagma is the changing of the guards by the Evzones in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The Hellenic Parliament Building is located here as well as various buses, trolleys and tram stops. A fountain, ancient statues and two large grassy areas offer the picture perfect place for photos and picnics.

Temple of Olympian Zeus

The Temple of Olympian Zeus is known as the largest temple in Greece. The massive ancient complex took nearly seven centuries to complete. Building originally began in 515 BC by order of Peisistratos, but work stopped on the temple as it was seen as oppressive as Peisistratos and his son were seen as tyrants by the Athenians. Work resumed in 175 BC but was halted 10 years later when the Roman architect Cossutius died. Under emperor Hardian in 132 BC, the temple was finally completed and dedicated to Zeus Olympios. The temple stands today mostly as a reminder of Greek history, but only 15 of 104 huge columns remain.

Ancient Agora

Located to the northwest of the Acropolis, the ancient Agora of Athens was once a marketplace and civic center.

The people gathered here to browse all kinds of commodities. It was also a place to meet others and talk about politics, business, current events and the nature of the universe and divine. The ancient Greek democracy can actually be traced to this ancient spot. It’s a wonderful area to look at the cultural beginnings of Athens. Overlooking the Ancient Agora from its elevated position on the hill of Agoraios Kolonos, the Temple of Hephaistos was built in the 5th century BC.

Plaka

One of the most popular tourist attractions in Athens is the Plaka District, which resides under the Acropolis and spreads out to Syntagma.

This village is almost like an island within the city, and it’s the perfect way to experience authentic Greek culture. The area is quite private and boasts truly unique scenery with several cafes, ancient trees, green leaf canopies and stone walkways. The area is well-known for its food, boutique shops and cafes.

Along Kydathineon Street, visitors find the Jewish Museum, Folk-Art Museum and Saita Taverna, which serves delicious bakalairo and other grilled meats.

Milos

Milos lies between Greece and Crete, and is known as a colorful island because of its volcanic beginnings. It is, however, most famous as being the place where the statue of Venus was found; the statue is now on display at the Louvre in Paris. This horseshoe-shaped island may only have about 5,000 residents, but it does have more than 70 beaches.  April and May are considered the best times to visit because of the blooming vegetation.

Syros

One of the smallest islands of the Cyclades and relatively rural outside of the capital Ermoupolis, Syros is a beautiful island off the normal tourist track. Despite its size it has the highest population in the Cyclades since Ermoupolis is the legal and administrative center of the archipelago. It’s a great place to experience authentic Greek island culture.

Thats it about this entries. See you at the next entries yaaaa
